The South Atlantic Region Events Calendar is a free service listing of any public event sponsored in any way by a member club, district, or State Garden Club of National Garden Clubs, Inc.

If a NGC member club or state garden club is wholly or partially sponsoring an event open to the public, whether it is a school, plant sale, Standard Flower Show, home tour or other public event, please send the information to us and we will list your event. The information should include: event name, sponsoring garden club name (including president's name and address), location, date(s) and time(s), any special information about the event, admission fee, contact name and telephone number or e-mail address.

Please remember that the events MUST be open to the general public and they MUST be sponsored wholly or in part by a SAR or NGC entity.

7	Standard Flower Show and "Designs by Tony Todesco" sponsored by Council of Garden Clubs of Virginia Beach on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 10 am to 6 pm. Tony Todesco floral demonstration will be held at 10 am in the Virginia Beach Central Library Auditorium, 4100 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA with "Lite" lunch at the conclusion of the program. The standard flower show, "A Step Back in Time" will be held from noon to 6 pm at 4200 Hermitage Road, Virginia Beach, VA. Admission $15. Call 757-486-1733 for tickets and more information.
21	The Rappahannock County Garden Club is sponsoring a Standard Flower Show on May 21 at the Washington Fire Hall (10 Firehouse Lane, Washington, VA). Anyone can enter the show, titled "A Garden Party". However, while you may bring a horticulture specimen to be judged on the day of the show, you must register by April 16 if you would like to bring a flower arrangement (aka "design") to compete (there is no fee, but space is limited). On the day of the show (May 21) all entries - both design and horticulture - need to be placed between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, must remain in place through the afternoon and picked up between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The show will be open to the public from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM after the display have been judged. There is no admission fee, but the RCGC will have a box for a "red" donation; all proceeds to go towards the purchase of the new tanker for Washington Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
